Sometimes referred to as LP, Liquid Propane is most commonly used for heat, hot water, cook stoves, and dryers.

Snyder Fuel delivers propane on an automatic basis to prevent the inconvenience of running out.

Propane pricing is based on annual usage. Some of our accounts use well over 500 gallons annually (i.e. heating accounts) while other accounts use less than 30 gallons annually (i.e. cooking accounts).

PROPANE SAFETY

According to New York State propane safety laws, if your propane tank runs out of gas, we are required to shut the tank off and perform a pressure test and check for leaks. New York State law also requires us to light the pilots on all propane run equipment in your house when the tank has been turned back on.

AMANDA’S LAW

Effective February 22, 2010, a new law went into effect in New York to help protect families from the #1 cause of accidental poisoning deaths in the US, carbon monoxide (CO).

The new law requires:

CO Alarms must be installed in

ALL NEW AND EXISTING one and two-family dwellings, multifamily

dwellings and rentals having any fuel-burning appliance, system or attached garage.

CO Alarms should be replaced every five (5) years in order to benefit from the latest technology and upgrades. Also the Carbon Monoxide sensors inside the alarm unit can wear out over time.

A two story home with a basement and three bedrooms should have six (6) CO Alarms.
